Talent Is Timeless is proud and excited to launch a daring and bold new project: 50 Over 50.
Since the beginning, Talent Is Timeless had a mission, which was to challenge ageist stereotypes in the music industry and champion mature artists. We believe they are talented, overlooked and underrepresented in the music industry and in the media.
As David from the Ryman Auditorium said, “You’ve got to do a little living before you can do a little writing.”
What started out as a couple of hundred songwriters over 50, who formed an online group and began sharing music between themselves, exploded into a worldwide movement currently with over 30,000 songwriters over the age of 50. Rediscovering their creativity, rediscovering a creative community, and stepping into a new chapter in their lives.
50 over 50 is our biggest project yet. The idea is simple. 50 artists, 50 albums, all over the age of 50, releasing all of the albums in one public coordinated event, raising awareness and interest in talent in the over-fifties songwriters.
What we see in our community are people who have lived rich lives, who have been through unbelievably hard times, who have suffered loss and heartbreak, joys and triumphs, and who now find themselves on a journey towards reconnecting with their art.
The landscape of the music industry can be daunting for the over 50s songwriter. Will people take me seriously? Will they even book a meeting with me? What are people really thinking when I step out on stage? Are my songs any good? Even if I do spend a huge amount of money and time creating, producing, and releasing music, will anybody care and will anybody listen?
This is the problem we want to address. We want to make sure that songwriters over fifty are seen and celebrated. Inside the music industry and beyond.
A release of 50 albums in one day at a public iconic music venue, filmed, broadcast, live-streamed, and if possible, televised, does exactly that. This is a statement to the industry and to the world, that being over 50 could be your most exciting, challenging, creative chapter yet. You can find friends, projects, adventures and become a new version of yourself at any age.
With a combined age of over 2500 years, 50 Talent Is Timeless artists are celebrating songwriters over 50 with a public release event of 50 albums in one day.
I have a dream – I’m standing on a huge auditorium stage with a 1000 people in front of me in Feb 2027, and a house band behind me. I welcome to the stage each Talent Is Timeless artist to say a few words about their songs. Songwriters who already ‘made it’ are presenting the awards to the Talent Is Timeless artists. Some of them step forward to perform a song live to the audience.
This is filmed, broadcast, there are interviews on the red carpet before and after the event. Each artists has a moment to shine, each person gets to tell some of their stories. All albums are added to a combined playlist. Albums can opt into being part of a sync catalogue.
And before all of that, each artist has a more private moment, behind the scenes, where they heard their mixes for the first time. They sat back in their chair and listened to what their songs real potential sounds like. A live band, a string quartet, professional mixed and produced, better than they thought they could sound. And they think to themselves ‘Is that really me?’. And they allow the emotion to settle in. Their art is powerful. Their talent is reaching its potential. And they can fully step into the fact that their songs are worthwhile, beautiful, moving, and they feel empowered to create more and share more of their creative gift with the world.
Project, Plan & Details
May-June: Applications processed, places offered to artists.
June-Nov:
- Artists begin their 1:1’s with their producers.
- Artists submit their song demo’s, lyrics & chords to the producers & agree arrangements for the songs
- Producers instruct the house band, compose for the string quartet, and process the recordings
- Producers & Artists agree how, when and where vocals recording will take place.
- Producers present the artists with first mixes for feedback
- Producers make the artists desired changes and master the album – delivering it to the artist
Nov-Feb 2027: Artists receive guidance and prompts to upload their songs, register them, create artwork, and ensure the release date is coordinated. Artists book travel to our release venue!
Feb 2027: Artists get ready to fly down to our release venue. We are preparing a full town takeover with small gigs at local venues, an all day listening party with voting and a finale awards event at a huge auditorium. Press, videographers, friends family and fans are all present to celebrate.

Applications are open from now until may 3rd. After which our team will carefully review each submission and offer places to 50 artists to be part of this experience.
