A 7 step guide for new contest members (London, Bristol, Melbourne & beyond)

Song Circles are friendly, local songwriting contests for people 50+. They’re designed to help you share your songs, connect with peers, and grow as a songwriter—without the pressure of a competitive atmosphere.

1. Log In & Activate Your Membership

• Go to https://www.talentistimeless.com/letslogin
• Use the username & password you created when signing up.
• Click Activate Free Membership or Get Started (no card details needed).
• You’ll be taken directly to your local circle (e.g., London, Bristol, Melbourne).

2. Set Up Your Profile

This helps others recognize and connect with you.

1. Upload a clear profile photo (ideally your face).
2. Add a cover photo (something personal, e.g., an instrument, venue, or meaningful image).
3. Fill in your details:
   • Location (city only, not full address).
   • Instruments you play, roles (singer, writer, producer, etc.).
   • Social media links / website.
   • Short bio, inspiration, or discography (optional).
4. Don’t forget to Save Changes.

3. Upload Your Song

Each contest runs for one week. You can only upload one song.

• Click Add Entry.
• Use a YouTube or SoundCloud link (avoid shortened links).
• Add your song title.
• (Optional) Add lyrics, background story, or process (especially if AI or collaboration was used).
• Your song is visible immediately to other members.

✅ Allowed: original songs, older material, instrumentals, AI-assisted songs (just be transparent about your process).

4. Listen, Comment & Connect

• By Monday night, songs are divided into groups of up to 20.
• Your commitment: listen to your group’s songs (max 20).
• Leave a friendly, constructive comment on as many as you can.
  • Tip: Aim for two comments or likes for every one post you share.
• Connect with members:
  • Visit Circle Members to see profiles.
  • Send connection requests or private messages.

5. Voting & Prizes

• While you listen to the songs in your group, you’ll have the chance to vote within your group and rate each song /10 stars right below each song. To vote, click directly on the star rating you wish to give the song (no need to click each on individually – as soon as you click your vote will be cast). Please be generous with your votes!

• Each group has one winner.
• Group winners advance to the Friday finals for a second round of voting.
• Prizes:
  • Main prize: 1 year free membership to Talent Is Timeless (worth £150).
  • All group winners: featured in Timeless Reacts (song review broadcast).

6. Support & Notifications

• Help button: message your Circle Lead (tech support) or Host (songwriting mentor).

• Support tickets: open one under your profile if you need admin help.

• Notifications: adjust in Account Settings to control email alerts.

7. Community & Beyond

• Expect a celebration event at the end of the week (with breakout rooms & live sharing).
• Many members collaborate beyond contests—recordings, open mics, even albums.
• You’re part of a global community of 28,000+ songwriters.
