Virginia Beach-based singer-songwriter Brian Grilli captured hearts and earned top honors in the Talent Is Timeless 2025 contest, winning Best Country Song in both the USA and Country Genre categories with his heartfelt track Little Things.

The song reflects Brian’s life journey and serves as a gentle reminder to slow down, put away distractions, and savor the moments that truly matter—family, friends, and lived experiences.

“I was very surprised and very proud that my song resonated with the judges,” Brian says. “It’s a sense of accomplishment that I feel every songwriter yearns to achieve.”

Brian’s passion for songwriting began early—writing poems and melodies in first grade, and later developing his craft when he picked up a guitar. Over the years, his music has been influenced by his life experiences, including his service in the US Navy, during which he even wrote songs while deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

While age and setbacks have never discouraged him, he admits the recognition is especially meaningful now:

“The confidence boost and motivation to keep going is definitely a fire starter!”

His recent album, recorded in 2024, marked a new chapter in his career, and entering Talent Is Timeless was a leap that paid off. Winning with Little Things has solidified it as his proudest songwriting achievement so far.

Brian’s advice for songwriters over 50 is deeply encouraging: 

“Age is just a number! Don’t let that be your obstacle—write and share your love, passion, and experiences!”
