The Mountaineer by Eric Ganeles

Lyrics

We sold our home and bought a Winnebago
After things in Massachusetts had gone wrong
Then we hit the road and drove to Acapulco
But the violence was way too strong

So we headed north to southern California
The line at the border five miles long
And we stayed awhile outside of San Diego
Playing music and writing songs

We got soaked laying in the rains of South Dakota
But we were stoned and didn’t know how to feel
Then we took off again before the storm was over
Rain was honey on our windshield

So we settled down in central West Virginia
Suppose we’ll wander somewhere sweeter in the fall
Over to Santa Fe or back home to Massachusetts
That may be the best idea of them all

We are drifting between eras
We are drifting between times
When a mountaineer faces a mountain
She climbs
When a mountaineer faces a mountain
She climbs

We are drifting between eras
We are drifting between times
When a mountaineer faces a mountain
She climbs
