My Best Friend by Gerald LeNoir

Lyrics

He was my brother from another mother
We were very lucky to have each other
It was us against the world, we stuck together
No matter the season, through foul or fair weather

I pledged to him
That we would be friends
Till the bitter end
My best friend

He was my guy, I was his ace boon coon
We were always in sync, always in tune
We shared our lives, cared for one another
In the autumn, winter, spring and summer

He pledged to me
That we would be
Friends till the bitter end
My best friend

I moved away but we never lost touch
We were apart, I missed him very much
We loved each other like we were blood kin
I couldn’t imagine my years without him

We pledged to each other
That we would be brothers
Till the bitter end
My best friend

But, I got the sad news one afternoon
He had left this earth much too soon
I lost my confidante and my best friend
A piece of my immortal soul died with him

I kept my pledge to him
That we would be friends
Till the bitter end
My best friend

He kept his pledge to me
That we would be
Friends till the bitter end
My best friend

My best friend
My best friend
My best friend
