Dnipro by Project Reverb

Lyrics

Would you dance this beautiful night
Will you take my hand
Lilac and poppies, bloom and display
Warm air of May surrounds us

Can you see the lights, hear music that plays
Can I have this dance
Families and friends and lovers alike
Heat of the summer exhausts us

The Dnipro flows, it feeds and protects
And gives us the strength to love in it’s grace
And in darkness the river restores our faith
Of a peace we remember, before

The Dnipro flows, it feeds and protects
And tonight takes my breath away
Will you take my hand my dear once again
Will you smile for me

Can you see the lights, flashes and flames
Can I save this dance
Holding our hearts in trembling hands
The fall of those who oppose us

Can you hear the shouts, the cries and the fear
Will you take my hand
Winter is near and darkness appears
And takes my breath away

The Dnipro flows, it feeds and protects
And tonight takes my breath away
Will you take my hand, my dear one last time
Cause tonight took my last breath away

The Dnipro flows, it feeds and protects
And gives us the strength to love in its grace
And in sunrise the river restores our faith
Of a peace we will find again

Bio

Project Reverb is the songwriting project of John Huggart—unemployed CEO, dedicated whiskey lover, supported by a global network of friends, family and collaborators.

The sound is built on what the name suggests: depth, space, and the echoes of things left behind. Eclectic joureys from indie, rock, jazz and blues – it’s cinematic pop with a bit of grit under the fingernails.

While the “CEO” title is a former life, the songwriting isn’t just a hobby. John’s tracks have held their own on the global stage, with “Faith, Hope & Love” landing as a finalist in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, the International Songwriting Competition, and the ASA.

From early collaborations at Vienna People with the late Michael McGlynn, to recent work with producer Michael Fogarty (ex Atlantic Records), the project has always been about the craft. The latest tracks, like “I Don’t Belong Here” and “Turn Around,” continue that thread—atmospheric, honest, and best served neat.
