Lyrics
I know my time
Is coming soon
When I’ll slowly
Slip away
Although I still have
More to do
And things I’d
Like to say
I think of what
I might have done
If my body
Wasn’t dying
Am I angry
To be leaving
If I say no
You know I’m lying
People that I never knew
Sent cards with their best wishes
And neighbors that I haven’t met
Made all my favorite dishes
My loved ones come to see me
And all my friends stop by
They sit with me in sunshine
We laugh so hard we cry
If I somehow was within your life
And my memory brought a smile
I thank God for letting me be here
To visit for a while
And the sadness that comes over me
Is the only pain I feel
But it’s tempered by a fervent joy
‘Cause I believe that Heaven’s real
I’m so very grateful I didn’t die alone
My spirit stayed and heard you say
I can’t believe she’s really gone
My final wish from me to you
As I slowly slip away
Live each moment
Filled with joy

Bio
I was born in Wisconsin in 1949, and I have spent most of my adult life moving all over the world, due to military and government service, as well as a “vagabond spirit.”
I currently live in southern Florida with Renee. We met in Dublin, Ireland in June 2019, while I was a Gentleman Host on a cruise. At that time, I owned a ballroom dance studio in San Diego that I had opened, after being diagnosed with and surviving throat and prostate cancer.
A strong friendship with Renee became something much more, and by December 2019, I uprooted and joined her in Florida.
In 2021, after being diagnosed with my third cancer (lymphoma), I decided to become a songwriter. Why not?
I wrote the lyrics for 12 songs and in 2022, I took them to Nashville, found a producer, and recorded my first album (Along The Way). The songs are a compilation of memories from my life “set to music.
I embrace every day with a fervent passion and heartfelt joy that I hope is translated from the words I write into the music I produce.
Thank you for sharing my memories.
