YOU SENT ME AWAY by Felicia Ham
I was riding down the road all weathered and worn, didn’t have much to say,
I didn’t know the route and I didn’t know the road and I didn’t even know my way.
All of a sudden, I heard a blasting horn, I turned my head real fast and little did I know what I’d see that day was the flashing of my past.
An angel came down and took me by the hand and guided me above. She said, “I don’t want you to worry dear you did it all for love.”
When I look back on what happened that day, when you sent me away and told me that you had somebody new, I didn’t know what to do.
So, I went riding down the road all weathered and worn, not having much to say, I didn’t know the route and I didn’t know the road and I didn’t even know my way.
If I had it all to do all over again, I’d go back before I met you When life was a littler simpler then, and I was happier too.
Then I’d be riding down the road not weathered and worn, having a lot to say. I would know the route and I would know the road and I would be alive today.
