Lyrics
[Verse 1]
I was hiking down a riverside
One that twists and turns and wraps
When I came upon a cabin
That wasn’t charted on my map
Although it looked abandoned
Inside a light dimly shone
That drew me closer to the entrance
As I knocked upon the door
[Verse 2]
As it slowly opened
I felt a warmth come over me
An old man sat by a fire
Fuelled by a maple tree
He sad ‘‘traveler you look weary”
And met me half way cross the floor
Offered me a cup of coffee
This was a dream I thought for sure
[Verse 3]
We walked back to the fire
Shook hands and exchanged our names
He said “I’ve been expecting you”
But didn’t know the time or place
If you’d like to know what the future holds
I’m afraid I can’t show you that
But what I can do is remind you of
Where you’ve been along your path
[Chorus]
You can’t walk this road alone
You need ones to call your own
Find a girl and love her strong
Plant your roots deep in the ground
You can’t walk this road alone
[Verse 4]
I finished up my coffee
And thanked him for the chat
I continued down the riverbank
Still no cabin on my map
Did what take place really just happen
Or was just some feverish dream
Was that old man a guiding spirit
Or was he really me?
[Chorus]
You can’t walk this road alone
You need ones to call your own
Find a girl and love her strong
Plant your roots deep in the ground
You can’t walk this road alone
Rivers bend and rivers wind
And they can leave you far behind
You can’t walk this road alone.

Comments:
Fantastic storytelling, I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next.
Try using more descriptive words in some parts so we know what the cabin looks and feels like.
