Lyrics
[Verse]
In through the out door
Nothing ever satisfies
All past what has to be
Holding court on insanity
[Chorus]
Looking for tomorrows
And chasing yesterdays
Instant forevers
All through the haze
[Verse]
Sorrows marching
In perfect line
How sublime
Precious time
[Bridge]
And still seeking
Blind along the way
Brings that happy day
[Verse]
In step with shadow
All passage chimes
Rooted beyond
Evey drawn line
[Chorus]
Looking for tomorrows
And chasing yesterdays
Instant forevers
All through the haze
In through the out door
Nothing ever satisfies
All past what has to be
Holding court on insanity
[Chorus]
Looking for tomorrows
And chasing yesterdays
Instant forevers
All through the haze
[Verse]
Sorrows marching
In perfect line
How sublime
Precious time
[Bridge]
And still seeking
Blind along the way
Brings that happy day
[Verse]
In step with shadow
All passage chimes
Rooted beyond
Evey drawn line
[Chorus]
Looking for tomorrows
And chasing yesterdays
Instant forevers
All through the haze

Bio
Chris has always had an ear for music, interest in lyrics, and desire to write songs. So much so that in 2022 he joined Twitch, submitted song ideas to some livestreams, and saw/heard them turned into songs on air. From there he joined FAWM’s world-famous 50/90 lyric writing challenge—one that he aced penning 51 lyrics in less than 90 days. And he wrote it all—love song to pop, rock to country (e.g., “No Longer Us” https://youtu.be/gaeWiLsFW-I?feature=shared ), metal to rap. A few collabs and skirmishes done during that first 50/90, too—whether Chris put lyrics to another FAWMer’s music, or other FAWMers added music/vocals to his original writes (e.g., “Down at the Riverbed” https://youtu.be/tSfPYQvipuM?feature=shared )—he looked to pen more. So, in Feb 2023, Chris joined up for his first FAWM (February Album Writing Month) on that same platform, and wrote his first concept rock album PUPPET MASTER—i.e., 14 lyrics (for it) in 28 days, with some as ballads (e.g., “My One and Only” https://youtu.be/BFjkQyMHlbk?feature=shared ), others heavy hitting (e.g., “Puppet Master” https://youtu.be/I9Fu1hNkDFk?feature=shared ), and all thought provoking with connection in a key, puzzling way. And still other FAWM 50/90 lyrics of Chris’ (e.g., “When You’re Loved” https://youtu.be/PUC3ibrpNXo?feature=shared ), have been turned into song by FAWMers.
Having joined TisT by way of a Facebook ad that crossed his timeline back in May 2023, Chris jumped onto the lyric-writing 50+ platform’s stage with a mind ready to write. Soon after, he posted original lyrics, managed collabs with another creative (e.g., on “Heart Keys” https://youtu.be/umwGLwdVORk?feature=shared ) to bring more of his easy- listening material to song life on the site, took part in TisT song chains—including TisT’s first-ever September ’23 (“What You Wanted”) chain with his catchy drum rock tune “Better Days” ( https://youtu.be/hxjeOscUiaU?feature=shared ), answered the TisT call—with his spoken word, human Acapella submission “Kiki” ( https://youtu.be/3Re4-vqni_w?feature=shared ), i.e., an ode to Sir Paul, re: the Beatles’ “Here, There and Everywhere” and of its connection to Chris—to take part in its Paul McCartney tribute page, and even added full lyrics (i.e., Chris’ “Words Most True” write ( https://youtu.be/FRWA536K15s?feature=shared ) to another TisTers “melody only” for an August ’23 TisT melody-to-lyric writing challenge.
Later going on to write and perform his rockin’ acoustic, addiction-themed song “I Want That” ( https://youtu.be/65mfX8wia8s?feature=shared ), as both a TisT song chain original and his TisT ’24 contest entry—despite Chris having, originally, just joined the lyric-writing platform as a “songwriter only,” and not as a “guitarist, singer-songwriter”—Chris has been living what he calls a carpe diem lyric-writer’s mantra, and his TisT time continues to show that, as well as his You Tube channel where postings of his latest 2024 FAWM 50/90 original songs and collabs, and his FAWM (Feb Album Writing Month 2025) original lyrics to songs videos can be found https://www.youtube.com/@ChrisBuonoWrites .

Comments:
The lyrics are lovely and descriptive but I’m not sure who the narrator is or what he/she is singing about. Perhaps you intended this but the listener likes to understand the story of the narrator so they can identify with them.

Thanks so much for those remarks, judge(s)! Great to have your thoughts on this entry! To further clarify it, the angle I took for this write was that “everyman” (i.e., all of humanity) is the narrator here. And what the narrator is singing about is not only that the mind is a terrible thing to waste but also that every stage in life has its own rewards. In that vein, “those” two particulars are often never seen by an individual while a person is in the throes of life, but, rather, only realized when it’s, perhaps, too late, or, just in time to see. Thus, we all, basically travel through life, somewhat in a (metaphorical) haze of sorts–seeking, craving, needing happiness and peace. Such was the entire impetus for this lyric.
“Even Homer nods” it’s said, thus, my “Hays” part of the lyric title above should instead read “Haze,” i.e., “Through the Haze.” Please be aware of that fact, judges, co-TisT members.
Thx, web admin, for quickly making my “Hays to Haze” support ticket request title adjustment.
