Look Before You Leave by Susan RoseSimms

Lyrics

Look Before You Leave
Lyrics by, Rosie Simms

Verse
Remember when we fixed this room….
How we patched up all the cracks?
You were painting and some got on me
And I splattered you back.
We wrestled to the floor and then
Laughed until we cried.
We laid there all nite just starin’
In each others’eyes
So baby

Chorus
Look before you leave
At the memories we made.
This porch is where we said we’d sit
And watch the grandkids play.
Out back is our garden,
Every seed we helped to sew.
So look before you leave
At what you’re lettin’ go.

Verse
You don’t have to run away
To search for higher ground.
The sun ain’t shinin’ brighter on
The other side of town.
Your troubles, girl, won’t disappear,
You take them somewhere else.
But you won’t find the history we have
Framed up on that shelf.
So baby

Chorus
Look before you leave
At the memories we made.
This porch is where we said we’d sit
And watch the grandkids play.
Out back is our garden,
Every seed we helped to sew.
So look before you leave
At what you’re lettin’ go.

Bridge
Whatever it is you’re wantin’ more
You won’t find it out that door.
I promise from the depths of my heart
We don’t have to end to make a new start
So baby
Chorus
Look before you leave
At the memories we’ll make.
Sittin’ on the front porch while
We watch our grandkids play.
Waterin’ that garden, we both helped to grow.
Look before you leave
And baby please don’t go….
Look before you leave
And baby….don’t let go.
