Lyrics
I HAVE A NAME
Words and Music By Susan DeSousa
(CHORUS)
I have a name and I have a face
And I’m everywhere that you go
Yet you walk by me every day
Sometimes you don’t even know
I had a home and I had a car
And I had a life just like you
But my job got taken along with my pay
And no one would tell me the rules!
(CHORUS)
Where do I go, and who do I see?
How do I find my next meal?
My kids are hungry,
And they need some shoes
Their clothes are ragged, yet they’re refused!
(CHORUS)
I stand in long lines, my life’s in this bag
Waiting for mere crusts of bread
My kids are crying, “how long will it be?
Until our bellies are fed?”
(CHORUS). 2X.

Bio
Hi. My name is Susan DeSousa AKA SukiTsuenami. I have been playing guitar sine the age of Six and Writing Original Songs since the age of 12. My influences growing up were Janis Joplin, Carole King, Judy Collins, Joan Baez, Broadway Musicals about Social issues, and the list goes on. I always loved singing and performing wherever I could and began singing at open mic venues, churches, and anywhere I was invited. My songwriting became very serious at Open Mics when I moved to Florida in 2013 and the topics became more focused on those who were hurting and in need of love and caring. I began to write about Social Issues that dealt with child abuse, Depression, Mental Illness, and how the need to be understood was so vital. I have traveled to many places in the Northeast and helped to run a Listening Room in Florida for over Four Years. Music has always been my passion and I have always loved writing about the issues that face our society and the world , and how to bring a light on them but also how to bring healing to those who are left in the dust.

Comments:
Such a heartbreaking scene.
I think we need a bit more imagery to help paint the picture. Try using the show don’t tell method.
