Wondering for whose sake
Wondering what it’ll take
To escape this fiery lake

Romeo & Juliet were so fake
Never had to sit and bake
Hearts gone over with a rake
It was just a big mistake
Isn’t that how we learn

Guess I’ll just stand here and burn

Been writing poetry and lyrics as long as I can remember. Started putting them to music for fun when I was 15. It’s been my ritual for pretty much my whole life. Excited to finally share with people other than close friends and family.

I liked the heartburn and heartache idea but feel there needs to be more on the heartburn side of things to balance out the heartache.
What causes your heart to burn or is it literal heartburn that you get from stress, eating too much etc…?
