2025 Competition Lyrics Entry:

BODY LANGUAGE by John Buckley

Lyrics

BODY LANGUAGE

Is she facing me?
Yeah, she’s facing me
But are her eyes dilated?
I’m learning the signs
Reading between lines
But it’s so complicated

Is that smile for me?
Yeah, that smile’s for me.
Or is she just being polite?
Unconscious signs
So deep in the mind
I could get it wrong or right

It’s happened before
Usually to my cost,
If you are scared of losing
You’ve already lost

Did she touch my hand?
Yeah, she touched my hand
Finger lingerin’ good,
It’s a giveaway sign
That all will be fine
At least if I dared it would

Er, maybe

Is she playing with her hair?
Yeah, she’s playing with her hair
I think she wants some affection,
It’s a tell-tale sign
What’s going on in her mind
And she’s looking in my direction

It’s happened before
Usually to my cost,
If you are scared of losing
You’ve already lost

If you are scared of losing
You’ve already lost
