COLORADO SKIES by RachelFaro

Lyrics

COLORADO SKIES

If there ever was a place where I felt truly alive
It was way up in the mountains west of Highway 25
Where the wind blows through the canyon
Far from the machine
And the world spreads out before you just as far as you can see
Feelin’ free under Colorado skies

I was feeling kind of restless so I climbed the cliffs of stone
When I heard the sound of footsteps and I knew I wasn’t alone
When the thunderstorm moved in fast well there wasn’t much to say
But we had an understanding and we kissed inside the rain
And there were rainbows in the Colorado skies

That night we heard wild horses as they galloped through the camp
With the earth so deep and quiet it was good to feel a man
And all that I’d been holding in dissolved beneath your hands
And the stars so clear above us and the sky so deep and grand
Feelin’ free under Colorado skies

We came down from the mountain to an inn down by the coast
It was there you made me breakfast, spilt the coffee burnt the toast
But in those awkward moments was the shining of your soul
I never will forget you and the way you made me whole
Those days upon the mountain feelin’ free
Under Colorado skies
