Lyrics
I wonder where you are
Are you at peace, happy now?
I had to let you go
Because we were worlds apart somehow
Every weekend walking by the shore
Waves softly crashing, a sound we adored
You whispered, “I love you”
But we were chasing different dreams
You talked of your future, I listened in silence
Watching the waves, lost in our timeless moments
You looked ahead to places I couldn’t see
While I stayed behind, hoping for you and me
I couldn’t wait, I couldn’t say “Yes”
‘Cause I didn’t see us in the future, no promise left
You asked me, “If you love me, why not wait?”
But I couldn’t grant that wish, too much at stake
We were just too different, walking separate paths
Years have passed, and now you’re just a shadow in the past
But I still love you, even though I couldn’t say
We were worlds apart in a different way
Maybe someday we’ll meet again
In a place where smiles and memories blend
‘Cause I still love you, but I wished you well
Wherever you are, I hope your dreams have swelled
Are you happy now? Do you have your peace?
In my heart, you’ve never truly ceased
I still love you, though we’re far apart
I couldn’t hold you, but you’re still in my heart
I wonder where you are now?
Are you happy now? I cannot let go
I still love you, though we’re far apart
I couldn’t hold you, but you’re still in my heart
I wonder where you are now?
Are you happy now? I cannot let go
Seeing a happy couple by the shore
Reminds me of our moments, the ones I adore
I know I should move on and love again
But the memories of us are too deep to end
I cannot let go…
No, I cannot let go…
I cannot let go…
Are you at peace, happy now?
I had to let you go
Because we were worlds apart somehow
Every weekend walking by the shore
Waves softly crashing, a sound we adored
You whispered, “I love you”

Comments:
It’s a nice story and you made the feelings very clear throughout.
Some of the rhymes were a little clumsy, for example I think “hope your dreams have swelled” to rhyme with “well” didn’t sound great. Try using near rhymes rather than perfect ones.
