2025 Competition Lyrics Entry:

Autumn Leaves by Craig Holland

Lyrics

My summer love with Autumn was too good to be real
Cotton candy kisses up on top the ferris wheel
My heart was flyin’ high till the day I got her call.
Said she’s leaving’ when September ends
I’m not ready for the fall.

When autumn breezes start to blow
And autumn leaves turn to red and gold.
My summer love will fade away to lonely memories
When October comes and Autumn leaves.

On the last day of September, I’ll take her to the plane
Look into her brown eyes, touch her golden hair again
Kiss her sweet red lips. Let her go with a last goodbye.
And watch those silver wings disappear in a cold blue sky.

When autumn breezes start to blow
And autumn leaves turn to red and gold.
My summer love will fade away to lonely memories
When October comes and Autumn leaves.

I can’t hold back the seasons or stop the setting sun
Or hold onto a woman when he heart’s already gone.

When autumn breezes start to blow
And autumn leaves turn to red and gold.
My summer love will fade away to lonely memories
When October comes and Autumn leaves.

When October comes and Autumn leaves.
