Lyrics
The Dance of The Moon & Sun
THE HUMAN FEMALE CRIED OUT TO THE MOON TO HELP HER, AS
SHE SHARED HER TRAGIC TALE OF WOE, SORROW AND LOSS,
“WHY OH WHY WON’T HE MEET ME HALFWAY TO
OUR LOVE?” SHE WAILED TO THE BRIGHT AND ATTENTIVE MOON?
AFTER A THOUGHTFUL PAUSE, THE MOON REPLIED IN A SOOTHING TONE,
“AHH…MY SPIRIT CHILD, HE CANNOT AS HIS CONVICTION & HIS PRIDE WON’T LET HIM AND BESIDES HE DOESN’T KNOW HOW TO!”.
“OH DEAR! OH DEAR” SHE LAMENTED OUTLOUD
AND SLOWLY WALKED OUT OF RANGE,
“WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO TELL HER THAT SHE NEEDS
TO LOVINGLY SHOW HIM?” ASKED THE SUN KNOWINGLY?
WHY DO WE LOVE THOSE WHO CAN’T OR WON’T BE LOVED?
IS IT THEM OR IS US/ME PROJECTING
A CONSTANT FEELING FROM CHILDHOOD OF BEING UNLOVED ?
IS THERE A REASON SOME ATTRACT THESE ONES THAT HURT SO?
MANY CAN’T DO IT ANYMORE AND ASPIRE TO HEAL THYSELF AND JUST LET GO!
AWARENESS IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY, AS ARE ALL OUR WOUNDS.
INGNORANCE AND DESPERATION CAN CREATE A VARIETY OF OBTUNDS.
THE SUN CLEARLY AND SLOWLY EXPLAINED TO THE MOON,
“IT TOOK SO LONG FOR YOU TO BE THE ONE I NEEDED,”, SHE SAID GENTLY & LOVINGLY, “AS ONLY YOU CAN MAKE ME SWOON LIKE YOU DO; WE FIT EACH OTHER WELL!”.
IT IS TRUE THAT ONLY DURING A “CHILDREN’S MOON” AND RARELY THAT WE ARE IN THE SKY TOGETHER BUT I ALWAYS KNOW YOU ARE THERE FOR ME,
I FEEL SAFE AND HAPPY WITH YOU; I TRUST YOU!
CAN YOU PLEASE TELL THAT HUMAN GIRL THE TRUTH,
THAT SHE MUST SHOW HIM AND TEACH HIM THE PROPER WAY TO LOVE?
WHY DO WE LOVE THOSE WHO CAN’T OR WON’T BE LOVED?
IS IT THEM OR IS IT US/ME PROJECTING
A CONSTANT FEELING FROM CHILDHOOD OF BEING UNLOVED ?
IS THERE A REASON SOME ATTRACT THESE ONES THAT HURT SO?
MANY CAN’T DO IT ANYMORE AND ASPIRE TO HEAL THYSELF AND JUST LET GO!
AWARENESS IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY, AS ARE ALL OUR WOUNDS.

REPEAT AND FADE…

Artist Musical Bio for Jenny P; Lyric writer:
I LOVE music, always have & always will! Especialy the courage, authenticity and honesty with live music! I believe music has the ability to connect, strengthen and unit people in a joyful way around the world! Like kindness and a smile, music speaks a language everyone understands! I am a massive fan & watcher of “Playing for Change”, a regular attendee & volunteer at the Winnipeg Folk Festival, have attended a WOMAD festival in England (1990), volunteered at the Kaslo Jazz Festival (2024) and have attended a plethera of concerts!!! I am/have been very blessed, indeed! Absolutely! I recall, long ago and far away, when I was 20 watching a 13 piece band (with musicians from around the world) in Amsterdam playing “Moondance” (Van Morrison, 1970.). What an absolutely fabulous and magical experience! I am SO very blessed to have been able to experience the magic of similar events! Musical individuals get very excited when I first speak to them because I have a low, raspy, burbon & cigar voice (I do not drink or smoke…anymore) :). I am tone deaf and perhaps the only song I can sing is my shower song, which could be debatable! :) I keep having a vision of Blues versions of some Bealtle’s songs (“Yes please, Mr, Jackson’s estate”) which was inspired by the original version of “Blue Suede Shoes”. I am a fan, friend, little sister, “Groupie” and eager dancer to many wonderful musical gigs I have attended over the years. As a teenager I became friends with Big Dave McClean, Brent Guitar Parkin and Gord Kidder (all 3 who are/have been very active in the Winnipeg Blues scene for generations, played in the band “Houndog” and have played with many Blues Greats!).My older brother is a songwriter & musiciian When I was younger, cooler and FAB I met Richard Moody (Acoustically Inclined), Brad Roberts (Crash Test Dummies), Luke Doucet (Accoustically Inclined) and Colin James (just before he got famous through Dave McLean one Winnipeg Christmas). I am a writer not a singer however I would like to work with someone to enhance this journey! Thank you!

A nice idea to write about the moon and sun.
It feels more like a poem than a lyric as the lines are so long and don’t have the same meter so it’s hard to see how a melody would fit in.
