Don’t be so Naïve
I know you never learned to read,
But you still turned all the pages.
Like a fool on a stool I watch as you bleed,
Yes you’re the rock of ages.
I remember the time when you walked into the room
Wearing that scarlet cloak
Well I got the punchline honey,
I just don’t recall the joke.
Refrain:
(But) don’t be so naïve
As to believe
There’s somebody left her
For you to deceive.
Can’t you see that you and I have nothing to retrieve,
And let me leave.
The bridesmaids are holding blankets
Over one another’s face
And the page boys use tissues to
Hide their deep disgrace
The bridegroom and the best man –
They are both tossing a coin;
One will gamble with his head and his heart
And the other will lose with his groin.

I have been writing lyrics since my teens. in fact I write lyrics and tunes but have not really hit on a melody that does full justice to the lyric I have sent, which is why I have entered. I have written lyrics for musical productions, and some songs used by amateur performers.
My main influences are Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and the Beatles, although a wider range of artists have influenced my writing over the years.

Some nice storytelling moments. Try to use the show don’t tell method so your lyrics have more variety.

Thank you for this response. Is it AI generated or human? I think the imagery score should be a lot higher, because of the metaphorical character of the song, the images are strong and I don’t think it matters that they are ‘mixed’. With the right tune, this would make a very memorable song. I think the lyrics are very original and striking. I don’t know how the show not tell thing would work with a song like this. I think that’s a bit of a cop out comment. That’s why I wonder if it’s AI generated.
