Truth or Consequences by Fiona Keane

Lyrics

I’m going to Truth or Consequences
Got a one way ride
No place on God’s Google’s Earth
left to hide
There’s a drone on every corner
And predictive text
Telling me where I’ve been
What I’m gonna say next

This is the age of empire
We are all under its spell
Disguised as heaven
It’s the road to hell
Leaving to others
What we should do ourselves
Is like asking the doctor
if we’re feeling well

Push a button out west
to mind your business back east
Lining the pockets of a few
Don’t worry us in the least
Bring your popcorn to the TV
Settle down and pay your dues
A valley made of silicon
Is making the news

CHORUS
Want to press the pause button?
Rewind the tape
Change the wallpaper and hit escape
Don’t need a GPS, there are signs along the way
I’m going to Truth or Consequences, today’s the day

Who cares for reality
Its day is so done
They can airbrush everything
Under the sun
Wanna live forever
They can freeze your brain
Only trouble is
Will you be the same?

They tell you live in the moment
It’s the place to be
There are so few places in life
You can stay for free
Went to Wikipedia
To look up black hole
I’m still trying to find my way out
Of that worm hole

The rules of this game
Are easy it seems
Everyone can be a winner
In their dreams
Worship the Valley
And they’ll save your soul
High res pixilation
Will make you whole.

CHORUS
