What's The Chances

Gramatically incorrect take on the April challenge of 'Chances'.
The space left in the middle to add an instrumental break at a later date is currently part filled by some coughing. I did consider re-recording but as I'd coughed my way through about 10 different takes, I left it in.
Hope you enjoy

What’s the chances that we both were wrong
Or if both of us were right
What’s the chances that we both can change
    Turn the darkness into light

What’s the chances that our horse comes in
    6 to 4 or 3 to 1
What’s the chances that we get to win
When they fire the starting gun

    Chorus
    Chances taking chances
    Decisions to be made
Follow the guidance or break the rules
It’s a chance we have to take

    Verse 3
What’s the chances that my team will win
    Pretty slim, that’s for sure
What’s the chances they can maybe change
    And be champions once more

    Chorus
    Chances taking chances
    Decisions to be made
Follow the guidance or break the rules
It’s a chance we have to take

    Middle 8
Life is all about the chances
Take a chance on all we do
    Wether fighting or romances
Some you win and some you lose

    Verse 4
What’s the chances of a world in peace
No more fighting no more war
What’s the chances they will someday cease
Can you hear the silence roar

    Chorus
    Chances taking chances
    Decisions to be made
Follow the guidance or break the rules
It’s a chance we have to take

  2. Lovely Huw. I’m getting a bit of a Bread / Paul Weller vibe. Fab chords, middle 8 gave a lovely shift and the sporting reference made me smile. I got to ask – football or rugby? Hope your cough gets better, well done for doing it “live” though.

  3. Thanks Bec. I did have that Style Council sort of feel in my head while writing it. As for sporting reference, both Cardiff City for the footie and Wales of course for the rugby
