What Is There Not To Love

This is a song I wrote 4 years ago.
Initially it was about me (how I was feeling at the time) but I realised this could be a song that would uplift anyone feeling low and insecure.

Think it fits the category well.

…………..

You don’t want to be a burden
So you never show your tears
You couldn’t bear to bring me down
By telling me your fears
You smile when you’re hurting
And you think you’ll never be enough
But You enrich my life
What is there not to love

No one else has ever been
So warm and sweet and kind
There will never be another
You leave the rest behind
Still you worry that I’ll think that you don’t care when things are getting tough
But You are here for me
What is there not to love

And I love the way you love me
I see it in your soul
There is nothing here but beauty
So let it take control.(repeat)

You smile when you’re hurting
And you think you’ll never be enough
But You were sent from God above
What is there not to love
What is there not to love
What is there not to love ooooh

  1. This is a great song well performed. Lovely vocal. It’s a song that you could listen to and just hear melody and the lyric in the title. Then after many listens you start to hear all the story in the lyric. It’s a grower…Well done.

  2. This is wonderful Ann, it became a teary listen but that’s a sure sign of a song that works for me. You did what I call ‘throw the studio at it’ and enhanced it, not ruined it, which is quite a common thing I find. It brought to mind a long-ago letter from a ‘Letter From’ series in the Guardian that I have kept. It was written to her husband by a woman dying of cancer. ‘Of course I pray for a miracle’ she wrote, ‘but I have already had my miracle, and it is you’. I kept it becasue to me it is one of the most moving and beautiful things I have ever read and I think I may come to feel that about your song. Hearing it has made what is a bit of a ‘wade through’ the postings here worthwhile. Thank you.
