The Weatherman
I heard Glyns lovely melody and words came to me immediately.
I then noticed in his comments that I wasn’t the only one thinking this was the one for me.
So no choice really!
I decided to go with the structure as it is because Mr. Shipman is on holiday.
‘THE WEATHERMAN’
When I’m sure the sun is here
And my pathway is clear
He brings the darkness and brings back the fear
Will I ever find my way
The Weatherman made it rain
He’s washed away my dreams of sunny days
Now I’m stranded once again
No shelter no escape
The Weatherman made it rain
I can see a chink of light
Peeping through the clouds
And I can hear the angels calling
Could it be time for me now
The Weatherman made it rain
He’s washed away my dreams of sunny days
Now I’m stranded once again
No shelter no escape
The Weatherman made it rain
Give me light give me hope
Oh give my feet somewhere to go
Give me purpose lift me out of this hole
Leave the darkness far behind
The Weatherman made it rain
He’s gone and washed away my sunny days
Now I’m stranded once again
No shelter no escape
The Weatherman made it rain
The Weatherman made it rain
wow – I like that!
Fantastic, loved that!
Absolutely lovely! Fits together like a hand in a glove. Beautifully played and really beautifully sung!!
Gorgeous in every way! So lovely that you’re using Glyn’s video too.
Wow, so beautiful. Great vocal Ann and such a beautiful guitar piece
That’s brilliant. A great collaboration.
Great job Ann. Love that hook line!
This is beautiful, I love it.
Another wonderfully well crafted track both lyrically and musically and so well sung. Also incredibly topical given how busy our weatherman has been recently. Life is so unpredictable, a very good reason to have a good umbrella, raincoatand wellington boots at the ready.
A beautiful song, musically and lyrically…!
Ooooh, this is beautiful. The lyrics are so apt for the mood of the song. Glyn I love that interesting chord change it lifts beautifully. FAB!
Loved your throughline metaphor(s) in this one, Ann, and how you weaved in questioning sadness, as well as a subliminal challenge for answers to life’s trials and tribulations we all as a people encounter throughout our lives. Nice work!
Great lyrics and really well sung. great.
You should sing every song Ann. A great musical match here. M
Excellent Annie! Great lyrics and a great fit with the melody. Thanks. And I have to say, clever use of the tech too!
This is a lovely collaboration. Gets my vote.
loved it
Great song – I love it. I was a bit sceptical how this could work, but you’ve proved that it can, and how!
