The Wall of Death
At the local fair in 1960. My brother introduces me to the Wall of Death… and my dream of winning a goldfish is forgotten!

Almost folk rap! Great song. Good one Glynn
I absolutely love this. Fab song and great performance. I really got caught up on your images.
A good song which summons how the mind can be stimulated, and at times, bewildered, by the rides in a fun fair. Richard Thompson has a song called Wall of Death on his Acoustic Classics album, which I recommend, if you like him as a singer songwriter. In your song, you take a more light hearted approach to the wall of death than he does in his song.
Great memories – enjoyed listening.
Excellent and up to your usual high standard.
Great to see you on here!
Great song Glyn. I really like the almost frantic feel to the lyric. Kind of sums up to me how childhood was a whirlwind. Nice
Brilliant song Glyn, great delivery.
Fabulous! Really clever lyrics and fantastic delivery – I was hanging on every word you sung to see what happened next – really engaging.
beautifully crafted and performed
Wasn’t the funfair a weird and wonderful place to a kid.
Loved your song Glyn😁
Enjoyed the reminder of the magic of the funfair although I’d only come across the wall of death in adulthood and that was scary then! Great imagery and fun accompaniment.
Great stuff, Glyn… “win a fish with a ping pong……. ball”.
Lyrically very entertaining and accomplished – nice one! You managed to squeeze in lots of imagery without being sentimental (not easy). Good work
Fabulous, very enjoyable
Really enjoyed that Glyn, captured the frantic excitement of the child, brilliant!
You capture the excitement & energy of the two young lads. A beautifully told story that drew me right into your memories.
Great song, I know you’re singing it but in my head all I can hear is another classic Simon & Garfunkle situational song, just lovely.
As I said on FB, this is great and particularly like that middle eight! Brilliantly crafted.
