Strings
Someone else’s song workshop… about our very own Saskia! I realise that the chorus sounds like a Paulo Nutini melody, I will work on it further. Lyrics below…
verse 1:
She never put down roots
Until she met a billionairre
Before she just lived on the road
Carryin her life on four wheels
That van sure had a heavy load
pre-chorus:
A different world, expensive things
Until she realised the strings attached
chorus:
Don’t mess with me I want my freedom
you have become
more than I can take
I’ve had my trials and tribulations
But our relationship
Relies on something fake
chorus whistle only:
Don’t mess with me I want my freedom
you have become
more than I can take
I’ve had my trials and tribulations
But our relationship
Relies on something fake
break:
I’m not yours to control
Not if i want to be whole
Please let me be
I need to be free
Verse 2:
The life she had come from
To what it had become
Had taken its toll
But she had the strength
And would go to any length
To not relinquish control
pre-chorus:
Her benefactors charm
Would do her harm, so she said
chorus x2:
Don’t mess with me I want my freedom
you have become
more than I can take
I’ve had my trials and tribulations
But our relationship
Relies on something fake
Thank you Ervin I love this! 🙂 What a treasure to come back to again and again….
I did try to get away from the Paulo Nutini sounding chorus, but the words and vibe kept taking me there. In the end I gave in. But, I’ll work on that part. Really enjoyed the workshop and working with you.
Lovely melody & lyrics and beautifully portrayed.
Thank you Louise
Love the rolling style of this, and the theme of not giving control over to someone else. The chorus is so catchy….
