Runnin Wild

Thought I’d don a jaunty hat and put on a jazzy filter to detract from my terrible playing. Unfortunately the filter meant I had to get in really close (sorry about that ?).
Also hilarious mispronunciation towards the end but honestly, about my 50th attempt and my fingers can’t take anymore…….
“Runnin Wild” Lyrics below.

Lyrics
I never really liked it, going to the zoo
All those caged up little eyes
You See them peeping through
The metal bars and padlocks
Theyre cold and hard and cruel
Wanna get them to outside
And reset all the rules

I’m running wild
I’m Running free
No man made lions gonna swallow me
You will find me at each sunrise
Reaching for the sky
No heavy load to stop me
No one to question why
I’m running wild

I never really wanted
To be just somebody’s girl
A possession of a master
Who locks away my pearl
So I found a way for me
To jump far from the tree
Leave it all behind me
Taking only what I need

I’m running wild
I’m Running free
No man made lions gonna swallow me
You will find me at each sunrise
Reaching for the sky
No heavy load to stop me
No one to question why
I’m running wild

been called many things
Through my wanderlusting life
Hard headed, self centred
every one is right
But I won’t apologise
for wanting to be free
Of the shackles tying you down
Cos, That just isn’t me

Bridge
No one really knows my truth
I’ll keep that just for me
no one’s round stop me
Untamed, unbound and free

  1. As mentioned on the economy site, love the gear, you’ve obviously got into character! The moody b/w treatment work, too. Great song about freedom, very catchy. Only bit I disagree with is about zoos, as they do amazing work in terms of conservation, education, though I appreciate the animals may not be too chuffed to be in a cage. Sorry, I’m being pedantic! Nice one.

  2. Another great song Bec. Your phrasing is particularly good on this – the pauses speak volumes. Brilliant imagery, and those bluesy inflections in your voice always sound so good. Voted!

  3. Really nice melody and the flow of creative imagery in the lyrics is great! Fave wild line is ‘and reset all the rules’! You have such a natural ear for a good tune, I really like the little upturn in the melody when you sing ‘free’ and ‘me’. Great!

  4. Firstly, I love the hat & filter! Your melodies are always very listenable & you deliver your songs with great conviction. This sounds great in its simple state, but could easily handle a bigger arrangement too with an epic finale.
