Rosalita, You Don’t Have a Country
#Countrysongchallenge
After my OTT 23 chord effort last month, I’ve gone the other way this time. I’ve tried to write in the country genre, so the challenge for me has been to restrict myself to the proverbial three chords, in this case G, C and D, although I couldn’t resist the temptation to add an Em at the end of the chorus. It’s the story of a young woman who escapes the fear of gang violence in Honduras, makes her way into the US, and is then in fear of being caught and deported back. Another challenge – to fit that story into a short song!
Always enjoy your songs – and this is no exception. Nothing wrong with 3 or 4 chord songs – it all depends on how you use them. Pretty guitar work too.
Always love your songs! You have a real way with words, and you are a master storyteller
Great idea, Paul – such an original subject for a country music number. Nice narrative, too.
Great stuff once again Paul
I loved this.
Beautiful song Paul. Your playing and storytelling are just perfection.
Brilliant again Paul, loved it!
