Old School

‘Old School’… a song about growing up listening to The Beatles, being inspired by Paul and, having played The Cavern Club, my band has a brick in the Liverpool Cavern Wall of Fame.

OLD SCHOOL

Call me classic old school
I was raised on radio
grew up with The Beatles
all those years ago

fired up wired
inspired by Paul
I played the Cavern Club
and my band has a brick in the wall

no I don’t text and I don’t tweet
I drum to the march of my own beat
and F-book ain’t where we meet
it’s half-way on a two-way street

call me classic old school yeah
raised on radio
The Beatles were my muse
oh so long ago

fired up wired
inspired by Paul
I played the Cavern Club
and my band has a brick in the wall

fired up
wired up
inspired by Paul
fired up
wired up
inspired by Paul

  1. Loved the snappy in this and its different style of play and delivery. Cool about that brick in the wall and how you worked it into the song by way of six degrees of separation from Sir Paul. Entertaining how you played this one; it really came across as though you were having a blast singing and performing it.

  2. Liked this a lot. Especially in contrast to some of the others. You could also use it in a pink floyd tribute song (sorry) . vocal delivery great contrast to the ‘busy’ backing. Good luck playing the bass when you sing it live…
