My Sweet Teenage Life
My teenage years growing up in Adelaide were full of sun, sand, surf, long days, and long nights.

Lyrics: Blue skies. White sand. Waves for miles. That all I spy. Sun drenched. Salt kissed. Bare bronze skin. My teenage life. My sweet teenage life. – Late nights. Drive-in. Friends of mine. How far we’d roam. Endless days of thoughtless ways to never go home. – My sweet teenage life. My sweet teenage life. My sweet teenage life. – And through it all I remember, the freedoms we shared. Nowhere we couldn’t go. No one to tell us no. – When I think of all those times we slipped away. I cannot imagine where I’d be without those days. Those special days. My teenage life. My sweet teenage life. My sweet teenage life. My sweet teenage life.
I relate totally to those lyrics Kyle. The whole mood of the song is right up my street mate. Chords, vocals. Yeah. Voting for it right Now!!!✌️👌
You’ve created a dream like space for those wistful memories of teenage years. I felt momentarily suspended in time. I’m really jealous, not that I didn’t enjoy my teens but those beaches 😍
Great memories, looks amazing. Love your voice too 😃
Thank you Phil Powell, glad you enjoyed it mate.
Thank you Rebecca, it really was a wonderful time. For stock footage those beaches are beautiful, and almost as good as the ones along the South Aussie coast!
Thank you Anne, alas just stock footage from a free video site, but you get the idea! Double thanks for the vote of confidence in the voice, a work in progress for sure.
Lovely strong sound – you’ve got a good strong confident voice that struck me as soon as you started singing. Loved the positive vibe of the song.
A cracker Kyle. Love the soundscapes you create with your guitar and catchy but distinctive melodies
Many thanks Louise. I too tried a new way of playing this time around and some of my transitions were, well let’s just say, less than ideal.
Cheers Alan, your positive feedback is always appreciated mate.
You slip into a Talking Heads vibe occasionally here! I had separated childhood and teenage in my mind but this makes me think I could have tried something way cooler! Really enjoyed this. Malster 😎
Great sounds and I love those lyrics. They really took me there. Gets my vote
Hi Mal, thanks for the fantastic vibe comparison, I’ll take it gladly! Glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks Cath, very much appreciated. Been a busy couple of months, so glad to get a song written actually recorded and entered as well.
There are some deliciously crunchy chords in there, which add a sense of tension to the otherwise laid back positive lyrics. The release of tension in the chorus works really well. Great job.
You conjure up the lightness of youth before it all becomes so damn heavy, Kyle. Gorgeous chords, vocals & I like the unfussy production too.
Like it! I also like the unfussy production – it suits the mood.
Hi Julie, thankyou so much for the listen, I’ll add crunchy to my list anyday!
Hi Suzanne, thank you again for the listen and the kind words. I’m especially happy that you picked up on that feeling of the calm before responsibility.
Cheers for the listen Andy, unfussy production is where it’s at when it’s a quick record and get out before the end of the month!
Enjoyed that Kyle.
Cheers Andy!
