My Son
Mel and I got commissioned by Glastonbury Abbey to write some music based around their medieval herb garden… so we thought we would combine it with this months challenge.
Please be aware the subject matter includes references to the high infant mortality rate in the middle ages.
As mentioned on the Facebook page this isn’t just a beautiful song, its an education in herb lore. I hope the Abbey are suitably grateful for your tremendous efforts. Lovely relaxing piece. Cheers.
Thanks Phil. ?
A beautifully woven and magical piece.
That’s a masterpiece if ever I heard one. It’s very much the style I adore, of course, but it’s so finely researched & constructed. The video accompanies it all perfectly. I’m running out of superlatives. Have I said that I like it? ??
Thanks Cath and Suzanne. We really appreciate your comments. x
Love the performance.
A lovely atmospheric song both of you! It will go down so well at your performance ?
Gave me goosebumps! And then made me cry. You are both astonishingly good at drawing emotions. Well done.
Sounds like its been or should be rather in the folk repetoire for centuries – lovely
