Maybe, If
Sought storyline ideas from the paintings by Scottish Artist Jack Vettriano and two of his paintings in particular: “Betrayal – The First Kiss” and “A Valentine Rose” … and wrote about what I saw as a story linking those two paintings. Decided to have a format of: Verse, Verse, Pre-Chorus, Verse, Pre-Chorus, Chorus, Chorus … in the hope to have a kind of build and to finish on a high. Thanks for Listening.
LYRICS:-
VERSE 1:
Well maybe, you have the touch, to melt this heart, of mine,
And maybe like dynamite, a dangerous design,
Holding hands by candlelight, where you can be my guide,
VERSE 2:
Well maybe, just, maybe, if joy is hard to find,
Then maybe, you’ll be my, candle in the night,
And if, the warmth of, your love is the, charm I need, tonight
PRE-CHORUS:
When I am with you,
When you are with me, tell me, always after midnight,
How do you, melt this heart, of, mine,
VERSE 3:
Well maybe, in your eyes, a/the truth is hard to find,
And maybe in your arms, a lie you can disguise,
PRE- CHORUS:
When I am with you,
When you are with me, are you,
CHORUS:
Hold me tight, never letting go,
Kiss me like I’m the only Show,
Dance with me, ’til the morning light,
Hold me like, you did long ago,
Tell me, you love me,
Tell me, you love me,
CHORUS:
Hold me tight, never letting go,
Kiss me like, I’m the only Show,
Dance with me, ‘till the morning light,
Hold me like, you did long ago,
Kiss me like, I’m the only Show,
Tell me you Love Me,
Tell me if you Love Me,
And maybe you love me,
WELL, MAYBE.
This reminds me of a folk band that I adored. Decameron were from Cheltenham. You have a Johnny Coppin voice. Lovely song and a nice story to its embryo.
Thank you very much Sally … I had to YouTube both – high praise indeed!
