Making My Memories Real
This is my Childhood memory.
My Dad was a joiner and he brought home lots of wooden blocks he would make from off cuts. He wrote the name of the wood on the blocks. This was the early 50ies and the memory came back to a few years ago. I wrote a short poem about the memory and when the challenge came up I thought it would be a good idea for a song. It’s taken me the whole month.
You give us a clear picture of your memory. It’s a lovely melody over a really fine chord sequence. Lovely.
Thank you Julie
I looked at your Ideal Day song.
Lovely feeling. And I like the repeating phrases. Nice animation.
Great tone in your voice.
What an enjoyable song. Great melody to it. All those lovely woods that your father worked with. Real craftsmen back then. Special memories 👌
Thanks Phil
Yes wee joiners shops in the 50ies made everything and used all the different woods. All nearly gone now.
Such touching lyrics and a unique experience. Beautiful melody and chord progressions.
Nice. Lovely chord progression and melody.
Sweet reflections and a pretty tune. Lovely.
What a lovely mood you’ve created in this song. Very enjoyable
A lovely, gentle song, Richard. Smells evoke so many memories and bring them into clear focus once again.
That’s a really nice song Richard, thoroughly enjoyed the content and structure, thank you for sharing it with us.
