It Would Sure Be Cool

Co-incidentally, this month’s monthly TiST workshop challenge was to write a country song so, I thought I’d include it in the monthly challenge too. I’m not sure if it matches the country genre but it was my intention to do so! Lyrics below:-

It Would Sure Be Cool …..

Waking in the morning
Thinking of you
Reaching for my phone
To see what’s new

A text from your number
With the line from a song
“I Just Called to Say I Love You”
But I’m still here alone

It would sure be cool, cool, cool
If you broke the rules, rules, rules
And shouted from the roof, roof, roof tops
That our love was breaking news, news, news
It would sure be cool, cool, cool
If you crossed the line, line, line
And never looked back, back, back again
And put your hand in mine

Waking in the morning
I know the score
Stuck in this longing
Hoping for more

There’s something I’m missing
I don’t wanna see
So you can keep on
Sweet talking me

It would sure be cool, cool, cool
If you broke the rules, rules, rules
And shouted from the roof, roof, roof tops
That our love was breaking news, news, news
It would sure be cool, cool, cool
If you crossed the line, line, line
And never looked back, back, back again
And put your hand in mine

Wouldn’t it be cool, cool, cool
To not be a fool, fool, fool,
And break my own rules, rules, rules
And find somebody new, new, new
Wouldn’t it be cool, cool, cool,
If I crossed the line, line, line
And made a new start. start, start
Before I run out of time

  1. I was there when this was born! You know I love your energy, Louise. You’re not afraid to try something new. I love the echos. It would be fun to hear this fully produced. I’m glad you kept the last verse in!
