I Would Be Wild

The original inspiration for my submission for the #wildchallenge was the way that Nature seems to overwhelm our tempts to control it. Eventually the nettles and brambles seem to find a way despite our best efforts and The Wild will have its way. After singing it through a few times however, it became much more personal. After all, we’re part of Nature too.

I Would Be Wild

I would be wild; I would not be tamed.
Snap all the whips
Shatter the chains,
That which was lost can be reclaimed.
I would be wild. I would not be tamed.

Wild as the waves in the wind-whipped night.
Sparkling spray in the gentle starlight.
Finding my rest on a distant shore
Flotsam & jetsam forevermore.

I would be wild; I would not be tamed.
Snap all the whips
Shatter the chains,
That which was lost can be reclaimed.
I would be wild. I would not be tamed.

Running wild as the vixen runs,
Cloaked in the night until morning comes.
Senses on fire, wild blood in my veins.
Feral & free; untamed I remain.

M8
Pulse of the heart, pulse of the sea.
Pulse of the soul as it longs to be free x2

I would be wild; I would not be tamed.
Snap all the whips
Shatter the chains
That which was lost will be reclaimed
I would be wild. I would not be tamed.
I would be wild, ad lib….
