I Know You’re There
When someone you love says “I’ve got some bad news to tell you”, you know your life is going to change forever, and there’s nothing you can do about it. All you can do is let them know there for them, to comfort them, to let them know your love will always be there.
Lyrics;
I’ve got some bad news to tell you
You’ve all got to be so strong
Something bad is going to happen
And it won’t be very long
We’ve all got to stick together
We’ve all got to pull as one
When the time comes, there’ll be pain
So we’ve got to be so strong
We’ve all got to be so strong
Where there’s love there’s always hope
Where there’s love there’s a ray of light
But sometimes when there’s darkness coming
Nothing can stop the night
No nothing can stop the night
I know you’re there for me
I know how much you care
I know your love for me
Will always be there
Be there
I don’t want to hear you’re crying
I don’t want to see no tears
When it’s over, just remember
All those happy years
All those happy years
I know you’re there for me
I know how much you care
I know your love for me
Will always be there
I know you’re there for me
I know how much you care
I know your love for me
Will always be there
Be there
I know you’re there
Beautiful, sad song.
Very well sung and great harmonies.
Who’s doing the vocals on this?
Although about a heartbreaking situation, this has a very pretty melody and some gorgeous harmonies – loved it.
Beautiful song from a sorrowful subject Graham. Female harmony was spot on. And to cap it all you sing like James Taylor you lucky bugger! Really loved it😁🌻✌️☮️
My sister is just about to start chemo. A beautiful song but I couldn’t get to the end of it. Very powerful indeed.
A sad, but beautiful song, really well sung with lovely harmonies … I agree with Phil, a definite James Taylor vocal sound! Really good job!
Enjoyed this, though ‘enjoyed’ may not be the right word.
Hi Graham, so I’m sitting having a cup of tea listening to the songs in the challenge and this is the first one I hear – it’s beautiful, I like those little pauses between the lines and the harmonies are great – think I’ll need another cuppa before I listen to anymore.
It always amazes me how powerful an acoustic guitar and vocal composition can be when those minimal elements are so closely tuned. It is the perfect vehicle for the heart breaking sadness that too many lives will come to know. Another great piece of your sonic art.
Quite James Taylor-esque, Graham! Such tender weaved into this lyric that bursts to life a second time in acoustic comfort with surrounding stength. That simplistic thread of care, too, sewn within these compelling, heart-touching words further help to raise both its outward and subliminal love and compassion being expressed to those needing it most.
I love the lift on ” I know your love for me… ” As others have said, the harmonies are spot on. It is a beautiful song.
Been there too. You nailed it. Absolutely beautiful.
Sincere & straight to the heart, Graham. A real gem of a song.
Every now and then a song comes along that makes you stop and listen and then play it again, this is one of those songs! As others have said it has a flavour of JT, Loved it!
Gorgeous. A song for comfort in dark times.
