I Can Only Imagine

"I Can Only Imagine" is a song about loved ones left behind in the face of mid-life loss. I have both lost close friends, and watched other friends lose their partners mid-life. This song is written from the point of view of the partner of the lost loved one and was inspired by the far too early death of my grammar school Shirley Chin Bassett.

  1. So very touching and heartfelt. A beautiful tribute to your friend. Your lovely voice sounds like you’re on stage performing a song worthy of Phantom of The Opera.

  2. Hello, I’m with Ian – this wouldn’t sound out of place in a Lloyd Webber production – you paint on a big canvas. I guess the fact that it is inspired by a real, sad event adds to the verisimilitude. On a lighter note – I love your scarf! Cheers, Phil

  3. Really enjoyed this. Your voice lends itself to a bit of musical theatre, but it’s equally a great country song with heartfelt lyrics and catchy phrasing. Whilst the subject is sad, I found it quite uplifting musically.
