High Day Nights
My entry for the #procrastinationchallenge – “High Day Nights”. Sometimes procrastination isn’t bad especially on those days I know as “high days”. Bit of an echoey recording – in an empty room, just moved house, still unpacking and taking ages about it.
Nice one, Alan! Loving the chord progression.
Hi Alan, This jogs along nicely, love the pace, and the generally happy vibe it generates. I agree with you – procrastination can be good for the soul (and in my case keeps me out of trouble). Sue, my missus just walked past and said the melody is really pretty. She’s right (as usual!) I take it the title is a play on words for’A Hard Day’s Night’ as procrastinating is just the opposite, or am I reading too much into it? Great job as ever, mate.
Quality again! Can’t wait for the album
Thanks Ian!
Thanks Phil, the title allusion to that classic is a happy accident. Would love to say it was deliberate!
Thanks Simon, really appreciate comment.
Thanks, for clearing that one up, Alan – I have a habit of reading too much into situations! Deliberate or not, it’s a great song. Cheers.
Quality again Alan. Excellent lyrics and I like the finger picking build up to the strumming pattern. Top stuff
Beautiful. Your songs are so well constructed and fresh.
Thanks Lance!
Thanks Huw!
I commented on FB but just to reiterate, great vibe and lovely acoustics in that room!
Thanks Cath!
I like the empty room sound – maybe put off the unpacking for a while. Procrastinate! Lots of great lyrics in there and a fine melody and performance
I love the melody and rhythm, nice and bouncy. A happy song and sentiment.
“I’ll never start a revolution; I’m barely up with evolution”! You write the sort of songs I could listen to all evening, Alan.
Thanks Kris – can confirm I’ve still not unpacked ?
Thanks Jayne – appreciate the comment
Thanks Suzanne – that’s really kind!
Another classic Alan, Im loving the positive spin on procrastination. Lazy days can be great!
