Give Me an Old Car

This is lovely, and the story really drew me in. I love the line about the lottery for bad luck. So heartbreaking but in a beautiful and yearning way.
Thanks, Kris!
Great pace and vocals. There are some words that just need to be sung by an American. Corvette is one of them!
Really enjoyed this. ?
Really like that Melissa. Nice work
Great voice and production. Good song
Love it, beautiful Americana imagery and sound, like the early Sheryl Crow stuff. Fantastic.
Melissa, I am still singing lines from this song!
Wow, what a great voice, perfect for this song. Strong imagery with some interesting lifts.
First class song and performance. It’s a great central idea of playing of the image of the man and the car.
Thanks to everyone taking the time for comments! Much appreciated.
Melissa. Great sound, vocal, production. A moving story beautifully told, good in every way, well done. Terrific, real, grounded, loved it. I think of my good mate Paul who has a terminal brain tumour – helped by a friend he’s ‘reflecting’ by writing a memoir. I don’t think any of his reflections will involve cars but that’s not the point! In this case, for me, the fit with the theme is distant compared to the songs that involve mirrors, reflections in water, etc. This is absolutely not a negative ‘reflection’ on the song or the performance both of which are wonderful.
Thanks, Dave. I think your reflection is correct – my song is a “distant fit.” Thanks for all your feed back though!
Thank you Melissa.
Fantastic job, reflecting on a past life. In terms of style, content and performance it’s right up my street!!!
I enjoyed this. Good arrangement and singing, and a powerful lyric.
The timing on the verse made me take notice and the change between the verse and the chorus gave the chorus that extra lift. A gorgeous production, loving the harmonies, great song.
