Very poetic thoughtful words.
Thank you
Nice song and well delivered.
Thanks Ervin.
Sung with real feeling and conviction.
Thank you.
Real…
Cheers Terry
I wanted to give your truly beautiful song another more detailed listen, both to enjoy and learn. I’d appreciate the lyrics if possible for you to share here. Thanks for your song, your guitar and your voice. Good job brother…
Thanks Terry, that’s very kind. Here you go…..
V1 Lost in bleak December with the north wind blowing cold,Through my soul, my soul, I can still remember the warmth of your breath, Now cold, cold
Chorus 1 I see your face, in the morning, See your eyes that shine, Your warm embrace, still calling, Your hands held in mine
V2 It was spring when I first saw you, standing in the shadows, Across the room, the room, You didn’t see me, but I saw your smile, & somehow I knew, I knew
You marched away in summer, destined for France, A job to do, to do, Across the sea to Flanders, so many miles between, We two, we two
Chorus 1
V3 You wrote of sun and sky of birds and misty, Views, views, You’d be home by Christmas, singing in the pub, Our favourite tunes, tunes
In dreams I heard the guns pound, heard the shells crashing, All around, around, I’d wake in the darkness, strain to hear but there’s, No sound, no sound
Chorus 1
V4 It was winter when I lost you, then darkness fell across, My sky, my sky, Your light was gone from me, cold out in the shadows, I’d cry, cry
Chorus 1
Chorus 2 I see your face, in the morning, See your eyes that shine, In my dreams you’re still soaring, Safe within my mind
Lost in bleak December with the north wind blowing cold, Through my soul, my soul
Hi Terry, now that I have re-read this it seems that in V4 I wrote “cold out in the shadows”, but when I sing that line it turns into “lost in the cold”!!!!!!
Last February I wrote a song called The Letter which is the prequel to December and is from the point of view of the soldier in the trenches writing a letter home, it is on my YouTube channel if you fancy a listen, https://youtu.be/9rIP2sid8Rk .
Cheers.
Nice song Andy. Well delivered
Thanks Trevor
A well crafted song. Nice performance.
Thank you Julie.
People from the past are speaking through you.
Thank you Lealiza, that’s kind of you to say.
