Cold stone wall blues

Many years ago I was travelling with some friends by car to Newcastle along pre motorway roads. We were heading across the Pennines on a misty wet winter afternoon when a voice said in disappear "these cold stone walls could give you the blues". Some years later I was writing this little ditty and his words pop back into my head which led to the song. I can still remember how tired we were when we finally got to Newcastle.
