Brave

I wasn’t sure that I would finish this song in time before the voting ended … but here it is. I interpreted “setting sail” metaphorically for this song … the ‘setting sail’ aspect is to ‘let go’ and believe in oneself, that love can be found once again despite previous set backs. Although, I did keep with a maritime theme to use the lyric “… don’t run aground, just sail away …” in the Outro. When writing this song, I turned to the paintings of Scottish Artist, Jack Vettriano and his painting entitled “Lazy Hazy Days” in particular for storyline ideas … and the painting does have a body of water in the background! Thank you for listening.
Lyrics:
VERSE 1:
Every lonely heart can break,
No need to hesitate,
Don’t let the fear define who you are,

VERSE 2:
Every lonely heart it matters,
No need to be afraid,
Take, time, to re-design who you are,

CHORUS:
You got to be, Brave,
Let it go and learn to love like you belong,
Brave, feel it in your heart,
You got to have, faith,
Let it go and, learn to love, like, you belong,
Brave, feel it in your heart,

VERSE 3:
Whispered words you’d write in stone,
Forgotten long ago,
Stay, strong and you can heal this scar,

VERSE 4:
Every broken dream can matter,
No matter, now you know
Take, time, to re-design who you are,

CHORUS:
You got to be, Brave,
Let it go and learn to love like you belong,
Brave, feel it in your heart,
You got to have, faith,
Let it go and, learn to love, like, you belong,
Brave, feel it in your heart,

BRIDGE:
Reaching out for a hand to hold,
Be ready to say, come closer,
And be just a little bold,
Then in your heart, you’re stronger

CHORUS:
You got to be, Brave,
Let it go and learn to love like you belong,
Brave, feel it in your heart,
You got to have, faith,
Let it go and, learn to love, like, you belong,
Brave, feel it in your heart,

Brave,
Let it go and learn to love like you belong,
Brave, feel it in your heart,
You got to have, faith,
Let it go and, learn to love, like, you belong,
Brave, feel it in your heart,

No need to doubt
Just breakaway,
Don’t run aground,
Just sail away,
And, Be, Brave
