I played acoustic guitar, electric guitar (rhythm/solo’s) and piano. Bass was played by Brian Hauck. I sang the lead vocal and Robert rushing and I sang backing vocals.
Description
This is a song about how the mistakes I made as a young man were never forgotten by my first wife. I learned from those mistakes but the damage was done. The line “we only know how to blame” was not true at all but was used because it rhymed. We are still good friends!
Bio
I am 73 Years young and have been a Singer/Songwriter since I began my musical journey at the age of 13. I played in bands in the 70’s and recorded a 4 song demo in a 24 track pro studio in 1981. I live in a small town and began concentrating on home recording starting in the 80’s and have evolved in that pursuit until today. I have an album of songs on all the streaming sites called “The Whisper of Souls” and am close to adding a second album in 2025. It will be called “One More Dance”.
Lyrics
The Wild Wind
There’s only one thing that I can do now.
Now that you’ve made up your mind.
I’ve made my amends but your sorrow still speaks.
I can only be who I am.
There was a time to try but I can’t try again.
I’m finding it so hard to just be friends,
Now that this wild wind has blown,
It’s just this wild wind that has blown you away.
There’s not one thing now that still remains.
Of what we once thought was our love.
Of shattered illusions we speak of now.
We only know how to blame.
There was a time to try but I can’t try again.
And I’m finding it so hard to just be friends,
Now that this wild wind has blown,
It’s just this wild wind that has blown you away.
All thru the years I had hopes that you might see,
To leave the past where only the past should be.
But somewhere in your heart you were hiding away,
All the memories that only brought you pain.
There was a time to try but I can’t try again.
I’m finding it so hard to just be friends,
Now that this wild wind has blown,
It’s just this wild wind that has blown you away.

But somewhere in your heart you were hiding away,
All the memories that only brought you pain.
There was a time to try but I can’t try again.
I’m finding it so hard to just be friends,
Now that this wild wind has blown,
It’s just this wild wind that has blown you away.
