Lyrics

The one working speaker of my old iPhone is chirping out a song I can barely make out.
Today I don’t really care ’cause it’s music to my ears, it was music to my ears, it was music to my ears.

It’s good to flashback to days of old mixed tapes. I’d wait and wait for hours for them to play my request. Might miss the first note or two but it was added to my mix. It was music to my ears, it was music to my ears, it was music to my ears.

The ship I was sailing on was all washed out, though I battened down the hatches and I’d sussed it out. There was nothing to hold onto, I was going down, but that swelled up, raging river let me out on the ground.

With me now as before, been a way of life, music’s always been a friend of mine. As I spin round and round, it sees me through my times, music’s always been a friend of mine.

Along the flow a winding path, I looked into my daughters eyes, my baby’s been with me all the while. Found myself stop looking out when I knew that it was time, and the music’s within us all the while.
