Description

Song about vacationing in Maine, nature and simple living…

Bio

Maine-based songwriter and contemporary folk artist, Tim Winchester was first introduced to the guitar at a young age by his father, a self-taught finger-style guitarist and avid music lover. He spent his early years tinkering around trying to emulate the sounds of his favorite musical influences and local guitar heroes. Tim would eventually go on to play in a small number of music projects, experimenting with a variety of genres until giving up music in 2002 to start a family.

In 2016, after more than a decade of not playing the guitar, a couple of convincing friends encouraged Tim to play a few original songs at a local open-mic night which would later spark a renewed interest in performing and a deeper commitment to songwriting and storytelling. Shortly thereafter, he timorously took his music from the living room to listening rooms and has curated a growing collection of songs ever since. A heart-stirring palette of soothing and sorrowful colors, Tim’s music has been described as “atmospheric” and “an ethereal landscape of storytelling”.

Lyrics

Week-long stays in Bar Harbor
Breakfast over campfire wood
Long hikes that end in the water
The way life should be, like an old L.L.Bean picture book

Evergreens scale the mountains
Rivers waste-deep casting hooks
Five o’clock drinks but who’s counting
The way life should be, like an old L.L.Bean picture book

Come back any time but leave it as it was
There’s no better time than now

Lobster rolls and fresh clam chowder
A book and a breeze, life is good
Playing cards and board game laughter
The way life should be, like an old L.L.Bean picture book

Come back any time but leave it as it was
Treasure every find and let nature do what it does
A simple kind of life is one you’ll come to love
There’s no better time than now
