Bio
One thing Christine Haas will not claim to be is a singer or a musician, but she is a writer through and through. Christine has been an elementary school teacher for over 27 years. She has customized lyrics to familiar tunes to help teach different content areas to her students. She has written parodies for her fellow colleagues who are going to retire. She has made personalized invitations and poems for her friends and loved ones. Then, one day, after a close friend lost a loved one during the pandemic, Christine began to write song lyrics. She wrote a song called Heaven is Forever as a tribute to her friend’s brother but had no way of putting it to music. After researching and asking around, she finally found a colleague who was able to put her words to music. It truly was a magical experience. Although the experience was levitating, it was short lived. Her acquaintance was not someone who regularly wrote songs. So she continued to write lyrics but her words lay flat on the page. Then a couple of years later, her childhood friend showed her a gift she had gotten for her birthday, a ukulele. She told Christine it was so much easier to play than the guitar, something they both attempted at the age of fifteen together but failed miserably. So without hesitation, Christine bought her first ukulele. With only two years of Youtube tutorials under belt, she is taking a crack at bringing her lyrics to life.
Lyrics
Verse 1:
You’re the blue to my sky. You’re the good to my bye
The roots to my tree, and the water in my sea. You’re where I want to be.
You’re buttons to my shirt. The healing to my hurt
You’re the light to my bulb, and the fire in my coal. You’re the center of my world.
Chorus:
Sol of my soul, I never wanna go.
The rhythm to my song. You help me move along.
The pump inside my heart. You finish what I start.
The answer to my prayers. Just so glad that your there.
Sol of my soul.
Interlude
Verse 2:
You’re the breath in my lungs.
The one that keeps me young.
The hive for my bee
And the honey that’s for me. You make my life so sweet.
The laces for my shoe.
The one that I run to.
The drum for me beat
Oh You make my life complete. I’m glad I’m here with you.
Repeat Chorus
Interlude
Bridge:
You’re the reason that I’ve grown. You’re the flesh to my bones.
The reason that I care. The one that give me air.
I’m the lock to your key. Glad you’re here with me.
Sol of my soul.
Interlude
