Description

I wrote this while I was walking into work a year or so ago, not realizing what it was about until it was done. Then I realized it was about an old girlfriend who died in a car crash in the 70’s two weeks before she was going to move back to the area and live with me.
We had wandered in and out of each other’s lives for years and were finally going to be together.

Oh, I Love You
Ross J. Vallone

Oh, I love you
And I can’t turn back now
Yes, I love you
And that’s forever

You came back one summer’s day, sayin’
That you just couldn’t stay, and you
Had to work things out somewhere
In a month or so you called again, sayin’
Let’s give us a try, but I’m not sure when
I acted as though I just didn’t care

But I love you, and I
I can’t turn back now
Oh, how I love you, but I
I can wait forever

Walk with me
Love me
Never let us go
The next week the phone rang
Sayin’ your name
And the car flew off the road

Oh I love you, and I
Wish I could turn back time
How I love you, but you’re
You’re gone forever

Walk with me
Hold me
Love me like you do
Hold me
Love me
Never let me go

Oh, I love you, but I
I can’t turn back time
How I love you, and I
I will forever
