Description

I originally wrote this song in about 1979 when my first ever long term girlfriend and I broke up. The song isn’t about us but the sadness and loneliness inspired me to write the song. None of the song really happened especially the last bit!

The lyrics of the song are almost the originally lyrics but I tweaked them a little in 2024.

The song is on my new album ‘Thunder’. I’ve spent a few months writing and recording the 12 songs. The release date is 1st February 2025 distributed through TuneCore.com

Lyrics

Now She’s Lonely
© Les Hewitt 2024

Persuasion from a young heart
She always wondered why
A sun storm sweetly takes her
Before rain she’d softly cry

CHORUS
And now she’s lonely
Seduced then broken hearted
And now she’s lonely
Love died the day they parted

Censored by distraction
So she can keep her smile
Happy on the outside
Her memory’s on trial

Chorus

A tear down her telephone
For the the man who seemed a friend
Her passion, perfume and romance
And she cried until the end

A midnight moon now chills her
Her thoughts are growing cold
The child inside now movers her
The child he’ll never hold
