Love at first sight…

Bio

Maine-based songwriter and contemporary folk artist, Tim Winchester was first introduced to the guitar at a young age by his father, a self-taught finger-style guitarist and avid music lover. He spent his early years tinkering around trying to emulate the sounds of his favorite musical influences and local guitar heroes. Tim would eventually go on to play in a small number of music projects, experimenting with a variety of genres until giving up music in 2002 to start a family.

In 2016, after more than a decade of not playing the guitar, a couple of convincing friends encouraged Tim to play a few original songs at a local open-mic night which would later spark a renewed interest in performing and a deeper commitment to songwriting and storytelling. Shortly thereafter, he timorously took his music from the living room to listening rooms and has curated a growing collection of songs ever since. A heart-stirring palette of soothing and sorrowful colors, Tim’s music has been described as “atmospheric” and “an ethereal landscape of storytelling”.

Lyrics

I’ve been waiting for this all my life
hoping, praying someday you’d arrive
Now, you’re here with me
waves of emerald green are rushing over me

Oh…woeful night, go easy
Stars are slow to flicker
Bitter cold northern lights hold my eyes
Beneath this hollow sliver of gold

I’ve been saving all these words inside
for this moment to catch me by surprise
Lean in close, you won’t regret it
waves of emerald green are rushing over me

Oh…woeful night, go easy
Stars are slow to flicker
Bitter cold northern lights hold my eyes
Beneath this hollow sliver of gold
