Description

I took her out on our 1st date in a 1970 Chevy pickup truck to a quiet spot by the lake. With only a bottle of wine I made, 2 glasses from the dollar store, firewood, hot dogs and chips, and a blanket for the tailgate. We married a few months later, had Gibson, our son, and 35 years after that night, we’re still together,,,,through the good and bad times.

Lyrics

Two glasses of homemade wine
A few hours with you
A red rose drinkin from a mason jar
On a tailgate made for two

The Fire light dancin in your eyes
To the music the radio plays
That soft southern breeze
brushin through your hair
I swear honey I’m amazed

I’m a lucky man that what I am
Cause you’re here with me
Nothin in the world compares to you girl
Here makin these memories

A lucky man. Yes I am
To have a girl like you
Holdin my hand
What I couldn’t do. Now I can
I’m a lucky man

The moon was full The stars all in line
The wine was aged up strong
A perfect night with the date
How the hell did it last so long

As I recall your smile said it all
Lookin at that ring on your hand
We didn’t know how it would go
But I knew I was a lucky man

I’m a lucky man that’s what I am
Cause you’re still here with me
Nothin in the world compares to you girl
Here makin these memories
I’m a lucky man yes I am
Girl like you still holding my hand
What I couldn’t do. Now I can
I’m a lucky man

Yeah I’m a lucky man
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
I’m a lucky man
