Bio
Patrick Canavan is a gifted performer who has fronted Canadian Rock bands U4EA, 600, The Tundra and HERE. Pat is also a gifted singer-songwriter with over 300 titles to his credit. A self-taught multi-instrumentalist who plays guitar, bass, keyboards, orchestral percussion (timpani, xylophone, tubular bells) and yes, even ukulele.
The majority of Pat’s albums are in the Alternative Rock genre that mixes many music styles.
Mr. Canavan holds a degree in Recording Engineering and is a practitioner of Acoustic Therapy, the study of how frequencies impact the body’s electric and electromagnetic energy systems. (It’s really cool!) With this technology he created a series of audio programs called BabySoundAsleep. Pat became one of the first “Indie artists” signed to iTunes with his program. So, aside from offering popular-styled music, Pat believes that it is important to stay innovative and maintain diversified revenue through music and sound innovation. Plus, helping babies never goes out of fashion.
In his 30-year professional career, Pat has:
Written more than 300 songs
Produced 18 albums and 12 singles available in 169 countries on over 200 streaming stations and stores.
Scored music for two award-winning Canadian short films Amplifier and Masterpiece Monday
Written music for commercials that have aired on radio, TV and Movie theatres
Written songs for top Canadian corporations like Canadian Tire and charities like Variety Village and Jumpstart
Had 2 top 20 Hits with the band U4EA, with “Mystery” in the top 100 AC chart of 1990
In 2018, Started MIC (Music in Community) that brought together people in marginalized communities like Toronto Community housing in Regent Park. Participants enjoyed a Music Café every week with performances at the Yonge St. Mission, taste of Regent Park and more. The music program allowed people to connect in a supportive environment and then showcase their abilities back to the community. As a bonus to the program, Pat has hired multi-horn player Randal Pilson from the group to perform on his new album
Currently mentoring students in song-writing at Durham College Music Business Program.
Produces and Hosts the popular YouTube Show PatCanMusicChan and Confessions of a Rock’n’Roll Cameraman with over 140 episodes.

Lyrics
Lighten Up Don’t let the gravity pull you down
Lighten Up Kick your feet up off the ground
Lighten Up Don’t let the gravity pull you down
Lighten Up Lighten Up Lighten Up
You and you and me,
we resonate on frequencies
Just like a radio
or calling out on my iPhone
Lighten Up Don’t let the gravity pull you down
Lighten Up Kick your feet up off the ground
Lighten Up Don’t let the gravity pull you down
Lighten Up Lighten Up Lighten Up
Me and You Ya We,
Keep thinking up what life will be
Collective thoughts do flow
Like calling out on my cell phone
Lighten Up Don’t let the gravity pull you down
Lighten Up Kick your feet up off the ground
Lighten Up Don’t let the gravity pull you down
Lighten Up Lighten Up Lighten Up
Bridge
Letting go of what is me
Begins inside my head
Cause how I think…can anchor me
Instead of always flowing on…ya float on up
Chorus out
Lighten Up Kick your feet up off the ground
Lighten Up Don’t let the gravity pull you down
Lighten Up Lighten Up Lighten Up
You and you and me,
we resonate on frequencies
Just like a radio
or calling out on my iPhone
Lighten Up Don’t let the gravity pull you down
Lighten Up Kick your feet up off the ground
Lighten Up Don’t let the gravity pull you down
Lighten Up Lighten Up Lighten Up
Me and You Ya We,
Keep thinking up what life will be
Collective thoughts do flow
Like calling out on my cell phone
Lighten Up Don’t let the gravity pull you down
Lighten Up Kick your feet up off the ground
Lighten Up Don’t let the gravity pull you down
Lighten Up Lighten Up Lighten Up
Bridge
Letting go of what is me
Begins inside my head
Cause how I think…can anchor me
Instead of always flowing on…ya float on up
Chorus out
